15 British soldiers in captivity - what do you think?

15 British soldiers are currently in Iranian captivity. Both countries claim for innocense. Iran claims for self defence against the 15 invaders, while GB claims for an offensive act from Iran. All of the British soldiers confess (as far as the Iranian media claims) they entered Iranian territory, while sattelite feeds show they have not. Who do you think is right? Why? Do you think the soldiers have been threatened to confess? What do you think Iran should do? What do you think GB should do? What do you think the rest of the world should do? Do you think a war is coming? What do you think about the whole situation?

Politically, Iran wouldnt dare to start a conflict with US or GB at this time. A conflict with either country invites a war which will harm Iran more than others. Thats why I think, the GB men had entered Iran territory. Dont know wether the soldier do it on purpose or not. Iran has two choice - to capture the soldier and initiates a connflict or let the soldier go but lost its dignity as a sovereign country. Iran take the first choice - dont want to lost its dignity. I hope there will be no war, dont want to see more people killing and get killed...

I do not know who is blame in all this. It is certain that it could have ended in a much friendlier way if Iran would have freed the soldiers already. It looks to me like another log into the fire by them and nothing more - why did they tell the mob to attack the British embassy? This is all too wierd. Why turture the soldiers into confessing? Why all this charade? Why all the lies in the media, about GB's policies and all? I am glad we all hope for the same thing - that there won't be another war, it is the last thing we need. I can only hope the leadres of the nations think the same.

latest news is they're going to be freed http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/6525905.stm "Iran 'to release British sailors' Mahmoud Ahmadinejad awarded medals to Iranian commanders Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says 15 British naval personnel captured in the Gulf will be freed. He repeated allegations that the British sailors and marines "invaded" Iranian waters, but said they would be freed as a "gift" to Britain. He made the announcement at a news conference, in which he also awarded medals to the commanders who captured the British personnel in the Gulf. He said the Britons would be released immediately and taken to an airport. Britain says the 15 were in Iraqi waters under a UN mandate when they were captured nearly two weeks ago. "Unfortunately the British government was not even brave enough to tell their people the truth, that it made a mistake," Mr Ahmadinejad said. Mr Ahmadinejad also criticised the US-led invasion of Iraq and Israel's war in Lebanon. He used a news conference marking the Persian New Year to condemn the countries he said were behind "misery" and "destruction" in the world. He said there did not appear to be anyone "to stand up and defend the rights of those oppressed". He opened the news conference with references to the Islamic holy book, the Koran, then made a wide-ranging speech about the modern history of the Middle East, while attacking the West. The invasion of Iraq was based on the false premise that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, he said, but even now "the occupation forces continue to stay there and people are still being killed".

I am so happy to read that, thank you. I you ask me to whom I believe, it is certainly Britain. Iran has done too many aggressive acts for me to believe anything their presidant says, and GB is the oldest democracy on earth, while Iran is so far the greatest terror founder on earth... I wish the sailors a happy homecoming and for the rest of us, long years of peace.
