How do you react when you have a money crisis?

United States

I have such a hard time handling the pressure when money gets low. I almost have panic attacks when I see the money running out. I try to stay focused on making what money I can to help out but it does not always help. What things do the rest of you do to cope with a money crisis? Am I normal to react with such panic? Any tips will be appeciated.

of course you are normal, I end up with all kinds of ailments because of worrying, but you know what worry never paid the bills. Each month I have to figure out how to pay them, I don't have enough money coming into my house at this time but it is getting a bit better. I try now to focus on the universe and believe that the money will just come, and it is coming in, whether you believe in God, the universe whatever, (God created the universe) it works.

I think this is faced by everyone some or the other time. As for me , this is quite regular because the living cost of the city where I live is a bit high, as compared to earnings. I think I try to save as much as I can, try not to spend over luxuries and delicacies. Save everything I can, from electricity ( so that the electricity bill is less ) to a pinch of salt everything I can .

I can only pray to God, praise Him, and this may lift up half my burden. Then i get new strength to face TODAY. Yeah, just think for today. If it is the worst for today, then it is good. (Think, at least I still have food to eat). Thankfullness is a good medicine to this crisis. Keep on doing the job I have and search for some other breaktrhrough.

I know what you mean! I was actually just let go from a job because they didn't think I could "handle" the stress of being 100% commission! Which makes no sense since now that I am making NO money I am even MORE stressed! I think you are completely normal, and it's very common. I guess I learned a big lesson from this -not to let making not enough money stress me out-it cost me my last job! Try to be positive, and maybe find extra work. Do things to take your mind off the stress, like work out or watch a funny tv show. Work hard to get extra money, but then RELAX! Also, when you do have money again, save, save, if you can, so that you will have something for the next money crisis. Hope this helps, and best wishes!!!

When it looks like I might be short or finances are going to be tough, I always turn to God. I pray to God and tell Him that I need His help. After I take out my tithe and offerings there is always enough to pay the bills. It has happened so many times now that whenever I have financial difficulties I turn to God first and let Him worry about it. And I am amazed how relaxed I feel knowing that God will help me through because I am doing my part to be frugal with my money.

I don't get anxiety attacks, perse, but I have trouble sleeping - I lay awake, trying to rearrange the money I have or think of ways to make more money. What I am trying to do to prevent such crises is to build up an emergency fund. I am saving my coins in a jar, and when the jar is full, I roll up the coins and take them to the bank, depositing them in a savings account. If we are short, we transfer the money to our main account, but I am trying to get it built up.

My finace goes crazy, if anyone messes with his money he gets so mad. Right now we are in a money crisis, and I have to ask him to spend money, and if he doesn't like what I want to buy. he will say no, but yet he can go out to eat. Me on the other hand stay clam and think of different ways to make money. And try to make low cost meals.

We have been in this situation more than once. We've found that getting a Pay Day loan is what has kept the wolves from our doors. While things have been better recently, we still had to take out a loan just so we made sure we had enough money for groceries till my partner gets paid on Thursday. It's normal to react like this, but to ensure that you don't lose your head completely it's important that you try to relax. It might be an idea to try and budget each month. Write down what you have coming in, and what goes out. Anything that isn't deemed a necessity can be crossed off the list.Myself and my partner have gone without before now to make sure the kids have what they need.

I don't panic, I think of where I can get extra money from. I think of savings that I might have, then if thats not enough I turn to friends and family. I understand that only in a crisis should you ask others to help you out, especially with money.

I get irritated is I face such a bad situtation. But here are a few tips that you can use to tackle those situations 1. Try not to get tensed.be cool. Dont feel bad 2. Before you meet with one, ensure that you have bank savinggs at hand. 3. Try to put a contant amount in the bank everymonth so that you can use the same at the time of crisis. 4. When ever you ahve too much money invest on some immovable property so that when theres a life threatening crisis, you can sell it and have ready cash. 5. invest safely.first have a fixed investment that is totally secured even if your returns in that are going to be less.I am sure that such money saved will defintiely hep u in crisis. 6. Use the money available in the benk during such crisis. Dont get irritated with ur family memebers. 7. try to design resolutions to quickly come out of the crisis. Dont take sudden and quick decisions.Analyse well and then resolve yyour crisis at the earliest

I have sufficient income to live comfortably, but not extravagantly. Still, I'm very uneasy about money and I tend to avoid dealing with it as much as possible.procrastinating when it comes to paying bills, balancing the checkbook, etc.Money - the necessary evil - some of us just do not love it, we just accept that it keeps us going and that's about it.By the way, if you use credit cards, get rid of them. Why pay interest to these bloodsuckers? Use cash as much as possible.

I am having a money crisis right now. I am short on rent, and worried about keeping the roof over my daughter's head. I get really stressed, crabby and have anxiety attacks more than usual. It's hard for me to sleep at night, and its impossible to sleep in the day, because there is so much going on at my house. But, I pray to God every day, and I know that He will take care of me one way or another.

whatever may be the earning in the start of the month every single one here faces problems like that ....as everyone me too....many times it feels like we are in the air at the start of the month and in the last week almost everything gets over no matter what i earn....then i just sit back and think of having some extra option to earn money though i have got some but then i am very much less in time so i can put my efforts ...still learning but then i think every negative part of life is a test ...if we pass we make good fortune and i think that as a opportunity and try something different, as for now i have around 3 sources of income but still out of money as i get revenew at the start of the month only ....so the best way to get out is atleast have 3-4 sources which will give you weekly income alternatively so money doesnt stops........................cheers

I try to manage my finances and seek guidance from wiser people when it comes to financial planning. My family and some of my friends help me with investments and taxation and invariably ,I turn to them when I am troubled with my financial condition. I can't say that I have never panicked.I have seen it is always better to go to people you trust with their wisdom to learn how they pull themselves out of financial ruts. They advise has helped me and keeping some money aside for the rainy days is a good idea.Saving a little every month adds up in the long run.

Everyone has this kind of problem. It takes discipline to stick to your budget. A budget for the month should be given high priority. So long that budget of yours can get you through the whole month - food and roof over your head. If you have secured money for your survival, then the others come next no matter if you have paid bill with past dues. You will need to earn extra incomes to pay the bills that are piling up. Never spend on things that are not necessary. When things clears up, then you can get a savings account so you can always rely to it when emergency comes.
