I just finished watching Dreamgirls on DVD. I LOVE to get the soundtrack. I don't think it's possible but I just love every song that they sang especially Jennifer's version of "and I am telling you". I'd have to hit the record stores tomorrow. Anyone else thinks so too?

I've never heard of Dreamgirls I don't think. Is it a musical? I like musicals!

Yes, it's a musical. The soundtrack is GREAT if you're into R&B and music of the 60s. Beyonce Knowles from Destiny's Child stars on it as well as Eddie Murphy, Jamie Fox and a few others.

This is a very mediocre film version of a famous musical. At times it's so by-the-numbers it's cringe-worthy. It has a very made-for TV quality that it never shakes. The music is surprisingly bland. The film takes place over one of the most exciting periods of time in music and yet the music in this is very limited. It never expands past Broadway bombast to represent the music of the time. The acting is all over the map. Knowles is zombie-like (except when she's singing)and Foxx is flat out bad and it's not because his character is less than noble, the guy looks like he was in pain as an actor and brings nothing to the role. It's an embarrassing performance. Murphy is great and I hope this elevates him to greater roles. He is a much better actor that his comedic roles have so far proven. Jennifer Hudson is fantastic. Not only does she deliver on every level but she defines just how great this movie should have been. She will justly rewarded for this and hopefully we'll see her act more as she's just as good an actress as she is a singer. The photography is obvious and uninspired. The movie keeps you marginally entertained but, except Hudson and Murphy, is not at all exceptional.

I watched the movie and I liked it. Of course the musical parts were all fantastic and I think Eddie Murphy did a great job. Jennifer was also refreshing to watch.

I love that movie too. I don't have the soundtrack but I wouldn't mind having it. Jennifer know she sung that song. She did a real good job acting on that movie.

I loved the film and have got the soundtrack - it's really cool. I saw the stage show many years ago and am amazed that it to so long to be made into a movie but they did a great job

I saw the film, and thought it was "ok" but maybe not more than that. It is really difficult to make movie musicals out of stage musicals. But I am in awe of Jennifer Hudsons voice! I never ever thought anyone would be able to do "And I am telling you..." better than Jennifer Holliday did on the cast album - but Hennifer Hudson deffinatelly does a great jobb!!!
