Suggestion: Ability to send messages to friends only

I think a great option on MyLot would be the ability to send "boradcast" type messages to your MyLot friends only, as opposed to having to post more personal messages to the whole mylot community.
I feel this capability would help cut down on "discussions" that are started just so people can communicate with their friends. For example if someone wants to let their friends know that are out of town, or made a change to thier profile. This would help clean up some of the clutter on mylot as well.
What do other people think about this option? Would you use it? Would it be helpful?
Does this already exist and I just don't know it? :-)

Do you mean like a kind of bulletin system like there is on MySpace? I would use a function like that, in fact i think it's a good idea. It would indeed clear up messages and be helpful to keep in touch with people. Not sure if there's something already like this, not that i know of but then again i'm newish here so not sure!

I agree! This is a great idea. I can't tell you how many times I've read a discussion that is someone saying "I'm going away for a few days." Then I think to myself "Um, good for you, but how is this supposed to generate any kind of discussion?"
While I think it's nice that some people are so close with their MyLot friends, I think a broadcast option would be really helpful to reduce the clutter.

I definitely agree. I find it hard to participate in a lot of discussions, because they're intended for a few select people. It's actually quite annoying, if you ask me. I think your idea is definitely worth considering.

I think that is a really good idea! It's something that I would definitely use to keep in touch with my friends. It is way too time consuming to send individual messages to all of your friends, especially when you have 100 or more friends. It is also annoying to see all of the "I'm going on vacation" or "Sorry I haven't been responding in awhile" discussions...

Thanks! And I agree...those types of posts are really discussions at all.
