Have you ever fallen asleep on a bus and missed your stop?

I used to work midnights as a health care aid, and in the morning there was always a 45 minute to hour ride home on the bus Luckily I lived rightnear the last stop for many early morning bus routes. i'd tell the driver to wake me at the station. once I got on the wrong bus answas 4 stops past mine when I woke. what an embarassment! I had to walk nearly 2 miles to reach another bus stop because this was a one way only bus, and there were no other busses near.

Some years ago I went to a business meeting in a nearby city that dragged on in to teh evening. We then had dinner, and I got the last train home.
And I fell asleep. I woke up alone, on teh train, in a shunting yard, in a city 50 miles away from where I lived. I was actually woekn up by teh cleaners coming to clean the carriage out!
I left the railway station and found that there was a snowstorm starting. It was 1am, and I couldn't fidn a hotel, so in the end I paid the £50 cab fare back home - it was such a nasty night that I was just grateful that I didn't have to sleep on a park bench!
I now program my cell phone to wake me up 10 minutes before I'm due in to my home city - even if I don't plan to go to sleep I still do that!

I don't know whether to laugh or be sad for you. But it's a memorable one, isn't it? ;) Well for me, only once, lol ;) I don't know but I don't usually sleep like a lifeless meat on the bus, hehe. Some people sleep so deeply that they tend to miss their stop ALL the time.. I mean seriously. I'm the type who's always aware of what is happening around me, I guess that explains my sensitivity, hehe. It's cool coz' everytime I wake up, i'm already on my stop ;)

Oh yes, a couple of times actually. The first time was when I was thirteen years old. The other time was here in Bangkok. I missed my stop two times. It was terrible because it's late at night. I was so depressed that time and I realized it was a bad idea to be going out when you're depressed. To top if off I couldn't speak Thai. I was crying on the road and praying for a rescue. Thank God he sent me home safely.

Yes it did happen to me. I can assure you that it wasn't that great an experience since I would have to probably take a cab back in that case. (It would likely be late - that's why I was so tired.) And cab fares are much higher after midnight. :P
