Tell me, parents, that you never did this: You had a 500 word composition to write. On a typed or computer printed page that means you had to come out with about two pages, because in regular sized type...is that ten pica?...it's about 250 words per page. So you started out writing your composition and you didn't know how you were ever going to come out with two hundred and fifty words in total. In order to come out with two hundred and fifty words in total you started using lots of ands and ors and therefores and wherefores. You realized you still were not going to have enough words for your compostion so you started spelling out your punctuation comma and then maybe you would end up with enough period Don't go through this entry and count the words because I know there are not enough period It's just an example period Then when you did count the words on your school work you found out there there only two hundred and forty eight so you added - THE END.

OK so I laughed--- I can't imagine doing this and I'd scold my daughter if she did- I can ramble on and on so I had no problem with compositions- I had a hard time staying under the word count- I got points taken off alot for being too wordy- : ) I have never seen anyone spell their punctuation marks. That has got to cost you points- Plus it looks pretty silly! I cetainly hope that you're not a writer or have to write papers for your job... : )

I've been freelance writing in one form or another for most of my life.

I've never done that and I can't see why you would. You can't add any ands and ors in when they aren't needed without ruining your text and writing the puntuation in doesn't make any sense to me. I expect people will disagree with me but I just give my honest answer to these questions :-)

That's fine. I have a strange sense of humor. Not everyone catches on.

A clever way of bugging the composition.

I am sorry to disagree with you, but for to write 500 words is easy, depending on the subject, it only takes me a half an hour or hour at the most. I have taught my daughters how to write a report and how to research. lol i guess being a writer helps in this area as well :-)

I totally agree with you, cher. You just don't understand my twisted sense of humor. I am extremely verbose and cannot usually get the MAXIMUM count that someone wants without editing profusely. Not everyone has this same ease as not all of us are writers by birth like you and I.
