Freaked Out About Pet Food Recalls

I'm a basketcase over all of these pet food recalls. I was okay after the first one...my cat wasn't affected. I was however distraught for all of the other pet owners who's fur babies were affected. Now we are up to 3 recalls in less than a month. What is going on? Is it even safe to feed our babies store bought food anymore? I don't know what I would do if my girl became ill or died because of food that I provided for her. All of these recalls make me wonder what these manufacturers know that we don't, how long has his been going on, how many other contaminated products are out there???? I'm considering doing some research and learning to make my own food, at least I'll know what's in it. Are any of you feeling panic over this situation? What are your intentions for handling it? I look forward to talking with you all about this. It's possible that I'm over reacting (ok, very possible! ;) ) but, at the same time I can't help but feel that the wool has been pulled over our eyes and it took the loss of someone's pet to force manufacturers to come clean about the ingredients they use. Looking forward to your thoughts!

My cats are my life. I love them as children. I heard yesterday that there was more recalls still. I fed them tuna last night. I feed them Friskies and so far it isn't on the list. But what aren't they telling us? I think the company responsible should compensate every family with a cat or dog for the worry we have gone through. I am all for a class action suite. What if it had been tainted baby food? Then people would sit up and take note. To me this is just as bad. To the people who have lost pets my heart goes out to you.
