I've read somewhere that it is possible. I think people who do Yoga or something can sleep with their eyes open. Weird. =/ Do you think it really is possible?

Yes its poissible because i've seen someone sleep with their eyes open. Its strange and to begin with i thought they were awake and messing around. I've no idea what causes this or why people do this except that some underlying neurological disorders can cause this e.g. facial weakness or stroke.

Yes I do believe that it is possible. I mean I personally don't understand how it is done but my oldest child use to sleep with one eye half open when he was a baby. Needless to say, it freaked me out a few times until I got use to it & then it just freaked others out. I also read a book by a man named Richard Pelzer. He and his brother (dave) both wrote some great books about the severe and unbelievable child abuse they faced while growing up. Well Richard learned how to sleep with his eyes open because of the abuse (wanting to be ready if his abusive mother approached him). I have heard of other who have this problem of sleeping with their eyes open and it can cause problems with their eyes. When we are asleep, that is when our eyes are able to clean themself (when closed). If we do not get enough sleep (for example, my husband who is a truck driver) then there can be health issues (husband has a re-occuring sty because his eyes don't have the proper time to clean themself). Thanks for the discussion post. Have a great night.

That really makes sense. And I personally think that sleeping with the eyes open cannot be compared to sleeping with the eyes closed. I think you'll 'wakeup' tired. =) Thanks for responding!

i think it's possible too.. and i think i was able to do this already.. during a class! hahahah! i'm sure i don't have my eyes closed because i can still see my professor writing on the left side of the board. and then he stopped moving and sort of got stuck there. i didn't mind and think much about it until i blinked, and there! the board was already filled with his writing and we were about to start the discussions already! i don't remember that it turned dark or something.. i just used the word "blinked" because it was like in slide shows wherein there is no transition.. something like that..

Oooh. Never tried that one in class. I usually just have my book wide open in front of me and doze off hehe.. I never got caught. Either I hide well or my prof just doesn't give a crap. LOL

Haha.. There was one time my book fell over while I was asleep. Funny thing is, my prof didn't even notice for some reason.. =/ (and I was sitting on the second rown in front of his desk!) Professors can really be insensitive sometimes (or dumb. LOL)

I think it is possible because when you blamk your mind your body will get really tired. Depending on individual the eyes actually do not need to close. But the side effect of this is of course eyes dryness.

Yeah.. Eye dryness. That must've hurt a LOT. And just wind blowing straight to your eyes hurts. =/
