Are google Adsense and Adwords the same thing?

I signed up for google AdSense yesterday and now I am seeing all over google Adwords. Are the same or is there a difference? Thank you for answering.

Yes brielevan, you are absolutely correct.Having Adword account, there is an another advantage on selecting niche keyword as well as bidding price.
