hands up, who loves being a grand parent?

My brother sent me some wonderful verses about grandparents, there was a lot of them so I only put a few here, he absolutely loves his 8 grandchildren and he can't get enough of them, in fact he asks his sons to go out so he can babysit the grandkids.
1.Perfect love sometimes does not come until the first grandchild.
2.Grandma's never run out of hugs or cookies.
3.Grandmothers hold our tiny hands for just a little while but our hearts forever.
4.Grandparents are similar to a piece of string - handy to have around and easily wrapped around the fingers of there grandchildren.
I know how he feels and I'm sure there will be a heap of you grandparents out there who think the same. I would just love to see how many can click on this discussion, and it doesn't matter if you only say a word or two, they are all appreciated, so get clicking.

I absolutely love being a Grandma - when my first grandson was about 2 weeks old I told my oldest son, the new father, I finally figured out why I had kids - for the grandkids!
Don't get me wrong, I love my children but the grandchildren are just oh so much more fun without so much responsibility - spoil em and send em home. I don't really do that but it's a nice thought and lets me enjoy them all the more because I know I'm spending time with them because I want to, not because I have to.

Thanks for the response, I know what you mean about having kids for the grandchildren, now I'm up to the great grandmother stage. If you can keep in contact it is really great, I have a great relationship with my grandaughter as she was brought up at home until she was 3yrs old, so now with the little g/grandaughter I feel just as close and can get to see her often, but boy don't the years go by fast, the little one in picture is now 2yrs old. Have a Great Easter time.
