Well I don't have any good advice, but I have a funny story about this. I have two younger sisters. My mom was pregnant with my youngest sister when my other sister was 3 years old. She asked my mother where the baby was. My mother said, "The baby is in my tummy." Then my sister screamed, "You ate the baby?!? Bad Mommy!" LOL

Be honest but tell it in a way so they can understand. Don't make up some silly story that causes them to get teased about when they tell their friends. I'm not sure how mature your 5 yr old is but - Try telling the child that, when adult men and women sleep with each other, there is a possiblity that they will have a baby.
