What do YOU believe?

I'm interested in knowing what you all believe. I don't just mean your religion (if you have one), either. I want to know what your whole view of life is. What are your morals or ethics? How do you see the world operating? Do you have a particular spirituality? Do you have an ecclectic set of beliefs gathered from different sources? I want to know! Please share anything you are comfortable sharing, and don't be afraid to be detailed!

Everything I believe in is in our apostles creed. It's a prayer in my religion. And my ethics is pretty much the golden rule, "don't do unto others what you don't want others do unto you" since I really believe in karma. What goes around, comes around.

The way you've phrased the golden rule is interesting - you've taken the negative side ("don't") rather than the positive side: "Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you". Was that a conscious choice on your part, or is that just the way it was taught to you? Have you considered how that might affect the way you fullfil that creed? (for example, saying don't can merely mean "don't be mean", but saying do could mean "Do good works")

To me, life is a hope. When you are alive, you have hope. Things may not be as how we see them. Events may even twist somewhere along the way. I'm a Christian. But, I'm a broad minded person concering religions. I believe, every religion is here to help mankind to walk out of hopelessness. I have friends from many different walks of life. We share views of our beliefs.

Hmmm. I'm not sure if being alive guarantees hope. I'm pretty sure I have at certain points in my life been without hope, but I'm quite alive. Perhaps you could define that more? Perhaps my idea of hope is not the same as yours. It's refreshing to hear that you are open-minded! So many people often aren't. I really think that being open-minded allows a person to adapt better.

Thanks for the response! It sounds like you have a fairly peaceful point of view. Do you follow a particular idea of God? Is your perception of god joyful? Wrathful? Jealous? If you believe in equality, why is your god male?
