If you are a writer or love to write , what is your motivation to write . Is it that you have an uncoscious motivation that you have never thought of but exists ? Do we really need some motivation .Can't we just write for nothing ?

Service to God and desire to help people understand the Word of God is my primary motivation in doing they translation work of the Holy Bible from Greek to English. I am a Christian, a child of God, baptized into Christ on October 1, 1989 and I belong to the Church of Christ founded and headed by Christ as shown in Acts Chapter 2. I am given the gift of knowledge and understanding Bible Greek and I translate the Word of God from Greek to English PLAINLY - Greek word into its English equivalent with additional words for grammar purposes written in italics so that readers may delete them when they so desire. I have already published GENESIS, EXODUS, LEVITICUS (Greek-English), THE WILL New Testament (Greek to English), ELEMENTS of SALVATION, The Right Way, GOD, ORIGIN, TRANSFER into PERFECTION, GREEK-ENGLISH (Grammar & Vocabulary), WORDS in THE WILL New Testament, and others shown at http://www.lulu.com/arseniajoaquin I have seen the versions being circulated worldwide and they are generally admitted to be 80% NOT translations. My translations are 99.99% translations and I see the truth, beauty, and sweetness of the Word of God. I hope these books could also help people understand the Word of God and be saved.

I just wanted to comment here and let you know how refreshing it is to read a post about someone who is a true child of God and is dedicated to helping others come to a better understanding of Christ and the written word of God. One very rarely sees this kind of dedication expressed,in this type of forum. I as a Christian myself, applaud you.

That's a really tough question! I'm not sure where my motivation comes from or what it is really. I think it might have something to do with just the basic urge to communicate. Humans are essentially social creatures, and as such have a need to communicate. So maybe that is what pushes me to write down all the crazy ideas I have. Now, actually DOING the writing is a whole other matter entirely. *lol* Anyway, I think we can just write for nothing, or at least nothing definable. It's rather a zen concept, actually: write for writing's sake.

I write because I want to share my ideas and thoughts with others. I want to share my imagination and create characters that everyone will love and learn from. I do think that you have to have a motivation to write. You won't want to write without a motivation. You have to be motivated to do anything really. If you're not motivated you most likely won't do whatever anything.

Well my motivation comes from my heart and my will to help and guide people in the right manner and i evaluate the disussions and then reply and suggest the rights and the wrongs as far as other motivation is concerned well money is a huge motivator and if there is a remuneration then a writer is compiled to put his best foot forward and will write to the best of his capability now that is concerned for my lot now answering friends is comeletely selfless even if you asked a suggesstion from out the box and needed my help i will always be there to help you in the best of my capacity but yes motivation does play a huge part but it is like money it is important but not everything in life

Strange but you did not use a single comma or a full stop in your entire response which was like five lines .

I love to write. I think we need to not only love writing but to be creative as well. Writing is not for everyone, it takes discipline to write. Everybody needs motivation for everything, not just for writing. Think of it this way; would you do anything even if you are not in the mood or you hate doing certain things. I wouldn't.

Write for nothing? lol, what will you be writing nothing about. I believe there must be a reason for writing anything to make sense, otherwise you might just be scribling circles and non-figures with no words, I guess you may do that also, like some painters call abstruct.

I don't feel people can write for nothing. There needs to be an internal or external motivation. Whether someone writes just to give a small book of poetry as a gift to a friend or wants his/her book to sell 100,000 copies and become a classic movie, everyone has their reasons. I write because the stories I write about I feel need to be told. The classic writer, Toni Morrison, once said that if there was a story that needed to be told and you haven't seen it on the market, then you must write it.

If you start writing without any motivation nothing concrete can be said or achieved. You must have a motivation in your mind so that you can tell something and bring out the hidden potential to your society with some messages which would benefit them.

I don't have any motivation so to speak. I just have an urge to write that doesn't seem togo away, despite many cases of writer's block.
