Why are more men becoming metrosexuals?

A metrosexual is an urban male with a strong aesthetic sense who spends a great deal of time and money on his appearance and lifestyle. Some famous figures have been dubbed metrosexuals, or even übersexuals--David Beckham, George Clooney and Brad Pitt among others. We've seen a lot of magazines feature men who exude these qualities. Why are men going for this trend?
I think it's because people are generally more interested in beauty, so men try to find ways to become more presentable. Some do it for self-confidence. They work hard so pampering themselves is a reward for them, like it is for women.

i have some friends who are metrosexuals... most of them are very rich men.. they spend a lot of money just to look good and smell good... i really like to have a chat with them because i always smell their breath,, it is so fresh.... almost fell in love to them... LOL... women usually attracted to men who look nice and smells good...you cant blame guys if they want to look attractive to women... really miss those guys...

I don't know if more men are becoming metrosexuals, but I'm glad there are some out there... they're much better to look at and smell than the average hairless ape.
