Be honest . Can you really overlook the lack of physical beauty in your partner if he or she has a beautiful mind ? What if : a. your partner has average looks . b. is really ugly .

I have known the most beautiful people to have the ugliest of minds and visa versa. My partner is of average looks but is a very loyal and beautiful human being. I think physical beauty will someday fade but if you are with a person who has a beautiful mind then you truly have it made for life. Understanding, caring, pampering, a warm hug, a kiss that lasts just bit longer than it should (wow), these are things that will last a lifetime and bring immence joy to your world..

Is it that we very easily talk about accepting beautiful mind over beautiful body but when the time comes we find it difficult to compromise . Do you hink it would be with you too ? That you may end up choosing beautiful body over beautiful mind ?

I have not thought too deply about this, but I think that looks too do matter, I think that a good mind with good or average looks is what I would prefer. Fortunarely, my wife has both attributes, a good mind with even better looks and figure, in that I am lucky!

I think my b/f is attractive, but that's my opinion. Someone else might think differently. I didn't go for his looks when i met him and i have never been that way inclined. But i think everyone finds something attractive in the person they are seeing.

No matter how much philosophical one gets, i think it all comes down to a point where looks do matter. But the thing is, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, maybe a person who appears good looking to me is really darn ugly to someone else.

I believe that I could reach a state in which all is beautiful simply because it exists. In such a state, the question you've posed would become moot. The idea of beauty is one of many constructs that humans created to categorize the world, making it easier to talk about. But when all the categories are stripped away, it is much easier to accept things as they are without judgment. All of that said, I do particular enjoy an intelligent, creative, funny mind - so even without the enlightenment I seek, I do think I can overlook physical "beauty" especially in the presence of such a mind.
