Do you take organic or non-prescription drugs? Do they work?

I used to take St. John's Wort for depression. It seemed like it worked for awhile... and then it lost its effectiveness after a couple of weeks. Then someone told me it doesn't really work; it's just a hoax. Have you used any organic drugs? Did you think they worked? I'm on Prozac now (for depression)... but would rather not have to rely on prescriptions. Does anyone know of an organic med that would be better?
