Skinny Kids!! Nope.

When I buy clothes for my kids I always have to get the slim sizes to fit them. Trust me they are not anorexic. They are just the right size. So I ask why do the clothes I buy not fit? My theory I'm sad to say is that the rest of the kids here have become couch potatoes and the manufacturers of kids clothes noticed and changed the sizing on the clothes. Am I wrong? Tell me about it??

Your theory makes perfect sense to me. The manufactorers are going after the market they think they already have. Sad to say, there aren't enough kids out there who are just AVERAGE weight. Because of the overweight children we see every day, our standard of what is normal has changed, making your kids look, as you said, anorexic, which of course they are NOT. Good for you for noticing this dangerous trend, where others have not.

I find it disturbiong. Do not caring parents encourage their kids to go out and run and play and burn calories, There or as many interesting thing s in our backyard as there on the internet or the video games. Trust me on this at one time or another those interesting things have spent the night in one of the kids rooms (Don't worry we have a catch and release policy in place-one night only)

when i look at other kids like when we are at the store i feel sorry for them. all of my kids friends want to play inside on video games or watch tv. my kids arent allowed but 30 mins a day to watch tv if that unless it is specail family movie or something. we dont let them play video games unless we have wii night and then they have to stand up and move to play. that is why we do wii instead of the other game systems. my kids are only allowed sweets after dinner and they have to have eaten there other foods. we make them go outside and play. we do camping and stuff liket hat as a family. it is sad how parents are alot of times by as long as the kid is out of there hair let them sit in the house and eat and do nothing lol.

I got an activity for you to add. We call it family exercise night. Each person takes a turn picking an exercise and then every one has to do it. It's pretty funny actually. And heaven forbid you are a visitor because my kids expect you to participate too. My son's fav is for everyone to lay on thier back and pretend to ride bikes with uphill and coasting downhills included!

I have the same trouble with my girls as they are tall and slim. Today a bught a pair of age 7 trousers for my 5 year old which were the right length but she had to wear a belt as they were so big around the waist. I have the same trouble with my 2 year old who even with a nappy on can't keep up trousers for her age, and she even has a pair that are supposed to fit a 1 year old that still fall down round the waist. I think it is true that clothes manufactorers think that all children are big. In this country we can't even buy slim fit childrens clothes so I just have had to buy my girls a belt and a pair of braces each so that they can keep up their trousers.

We actually recycle our long pants every year because I just cut them off and turn them into shorts. They'll be almost two sizes too short in the length and still fit mine in the waist.

i have the same problem with my girls. my oldest i have to get slim. my youngest though i have to get boy slim lol. poor baby has to wear boy jeans cause girl jeans dont fit her at all. the only boy jeans that fit her are wrangler too and they cost alittle bit and her size is always hard to find it seems. i love when summer gets here so i can get elastic shorts and dresses lol. both of my kids are tall and skinny and my youngest has no butt at all. in fact when she was a baby if i just had a diaper on her with no bloomers the diaper fell off when i picked her up lol. well she never grew a butt.

lol, I think what saves me with my girl is that I sew quite a bit and she likes picking out fabric and helping mom make her her own special clothes.

We have family exercise night, and the hubby makes us all go ride a bike a couple times a week. Plus, we don't let ours just park in fron of the tv, and video games. MAybe it makes a difference.
