You are working in a good and well established company, with all kinds of facilities like access to internet, weekend parties and full of fun in office. You have to work 10 hours a day and you are being paid a fair amount of salary which you may not get if you shift to some other company. Now the main part of the discussion is you are having heavy work which at times frustrates you. makes you yell at your coleagues when they do some thing wrong. Your position is critical in the office and you have to be there for sure. But you want to quit that job cause you are not able to cope with the burden of the work. Your boss offers you a 30% hike in the salary. Now what will you chose Will you Leave the job or Will you agree to the 30% hike offer and get along with the same company even though you find it difficult working that hard. Are will you leave that job and search for a new one where you dont need to work this hard and at the same time you wont be paid as you are being paid here. Be honest and come out with your opinions on this.

well I think i understand your question...and firstly i would like to say that without challenges and hard work no individual can grow in life and become sucessful...while money is always important part of the job because we have to support our families/dreams..and i think it is simply the choice of an individual that whether he wants to party at weekends(Which By the way is not a bad thing to do),do little work, earn decent money and be satisfied at the end of the day...if that gives him satisfaction i think thats good for him not that its the right thing to do in life..we must be constantly working hard and face challenges which make life more interesting and helps an individual grow..which according to me is the way of life and thats the way i would get satisfaction...money would always come your way if you work hard..i hope i was able to explain!!

Hurrey!!!!! I cant believe. Its almost my story...... I shifted job like that. For me satisfaction in work is the first. Salary and other things come next. Once you say that you are going to leave the job, dont expect the people in the company to respect you after that!(From my personal experience.).

If I am having all that stress it will affect my health and my health is more important, I left my last job because of it, and all though I don't regret leaving I have never found another job since.

At the moment I am not working, I stay at home and look after my children. I am fortunate enough to have enough money to do this without having to work. I don't think any amount of money would make me want to do a stressful job anymore. I have done it in the past but now I know that I can survive well enough without having to work I wouldn't do it again.

I work with my dad but on salary basis . I'm at a branch office of dad's finance company as head of the branch . I enjoy my work but I am not satisfied with salary he is provirding me. I'm his only son and will get this business inherited . I'm nearly on my way to quit this job and start my own business of dairy products. I'm leaving this job as I want to do something of my own and want to be boss of my place. If the scenario above would have been my story , I would have left the job immediately without any hesitations. I feel respect is key to work not money . May be as I'm already earning good that's why I have this feeling and I admit that if I would have been from poor family then whole scene would have been different .

You work with your dad thats a good thing so you should be inheriting the office or you would talking control of the office soon. You gave the clear picture of the scenarios you are associated with and you are happy with the job you are in as of now. But me neither will be promoted nor i will have a change the peoples respect towards me. I cannot leave that job as i have some kind of job satisfaction and as i mentioned there are many facilities that would make me feel a bit happier leaving aside these problems. I wont bother those troubles since i am kind of guy who takes things at ease. Thanks for responding samrat. Wish you good luck for your future endeavors.

Depending on what my husband's pay was at the time, I'd consider taking it. My husband is an e-4 in the marine corps, and as nice as his benefits are, his pay is crap. Enough for a family of four to get by, but live far from comfortably. I'd probably take the job, try it out for a month or two. If it got to the point where I felt like I was going to have a breakdown after that, I would quit.

I won't choose a life where there is no time for leisure, everybody wants a environment where they can be happy and contented in what they are doing and money is the solution here. Money does not matter a lot to me but what matters is what i am getting from what i am doing, am i enjoying what i am doing 'thats what matters the most. Mental pressure wears down ones physical as well as mental strength so, why go for money.

I'd personally look for another job, but I'd do it before quitting the previous job. If I could find another job with the same or(depending on how much I hate the job), slightly less pay, I'd then apply to such and give notice if I had gotten said job. As they say, don't burn your bridges. I personally don't like the job I'm at right now, and am looking for another one. If I found such, I would take it, even if I was offered an increse. Mainly because, if you're job makes you miserable(whether it be the co-workers or the work itself), it's basically just not the job for you. If you're angry at your job, you're not going to perform as you should be, it'll affect your relationship with co-workers(if they're not the problem) and you'll just end up dreading having to go in the next day.

Truthfully, I've had some great high paying jobs. I used to be a paralegal and made very good money doing this. The stress and the back-stabbing people I worked with though weren't worth the paycheck. I quit my job and went back to school to become a teacher. Yes, it's still stressful, but in a different way and I'd rather talk to kids all day than talk to laywers.

well a very important question to be pondering about. But the fact is that people arround the world mostly prefer to work just for money, but there are a few sort of people arround the world who prefer their work much important than their money that they earn. Its completely based on perception and people to people thinking, its not just about money everytime. Well i strongly feel that a person shoul not work for money rather prefer a job which he would love to work for, well thats the way i work, i prefer working in an enviornment where its fun to work and not hectic as if it is what we have to do anyways to earn money. An individual should enjoy their work so that he at an instance dont find his work monotenus, so you should always work for the job which would try making you happy as you get the added incentive of the money too , as it is a very important part of our life coz 1/3rd of the day is been normally spent there and at times it could be more than that.

I'd rather work minimum wage at something I enjoy than work for high pay at something I can't stand. I've tried doing it that way, in the end it's not worth it because you never have a chance to enjoy anyhting the money's going to get you. This view of course is probably why I'm currently unemployed. :p

well, its a good discussion. i would like to say, here, one should not leave the job at present. he should take the hike the boss is giving, for the time being.its very difficult to get jobs now a days, with so much of competition. what i say is to work at the same place with a hike in salary , and in the mean time look for another good job, worth you. in my openion, this is a wise decision. because, without job, its tough to survive

To be honest and really honest, I will choose the job. I won't be able to work at a workplace where everything seems wrong. I will be more ok with a low salary but happy with my everyday life than have all the money in the world and suffer every singel minute of your day. I have seem myself in situations like this and I will always choose the job that I really enjoy.

Which concerns me more is money because if you have more money then you dont need any job to sustain your needs.Because me,if i have enough money then i will let to stay at home and have a business.I just want a future life for me and my family.I want to give my children a good education.

For me money and job is very important nowadays but you should have a better job in order to have enough money. But if you are not happy then with what your job is going even if the salary is good I would rather leave the company and look for another one. Because I believe that you can do your job properly and smoothly if you are comfortable with your surroundings and the persons you encounter. Having good and nice people around you, working hard and having enough salary makes you earn money for a living.
