to love or be loved?

In my points of view I would go for "to love" since I believe that love would grow in process not at instant. If I love somebody, I know that his love to me will grow for I will do everything to make him love me the way I do. On the other hand, being loved is a different thing.. Love will fade if its properly taking cared of.
