Freaked out by spiders - part 2

A week ago I posted a discussion on how spiders freak me out. Especially since we have moved to a forrest in the Tennessee hills.
Ms.Tickle appropriately pointed out that I am arachnaphobic and said that I should face my fear. I promised to do some spider research but instead, my phobia has been reinforced.
A Brown Recluse got into bed with my 14 year old son and bit him 9 times on his face. This happened Saturday. I thought he had a rash and didn't realize he had been bitten. He slept through it.
Sunday he was in the hospital with 9 holes in his face and puss draining from every hole.
They pumped him full of antibiotics, demerol, steroids and benadryl.
He is still on antibiotics, pain medicine, benadryl and nausea medicine. He can't stand for very long without losing his balance. The Doctor told us that would happen because of where the bites are.
We found twp Brown Recluse Spiders in his closet and a dead one in his sheets.
The exterminator will be here Thursday, but what can I do to spider proof our new home permanently? I can't have this happening again.
My spider phobia is now at an all time high!

I'm so sorry this has happened. it must be still terrifying for you. How dreadful for your poor son and the rest of the family of course. My chest is tight with the emotions right now.
Do you have neighbours in your vicinity who can suggest something? How about a parks and wildlife officer. Surely some locals can tell you how to cope with this devastating problem.
I've said some prayers for your son I hope it helps. I sincerely hope you can fix things...I'm at a loss for words.

Thank you. I really appreciate the prayers!
I am taking your suggestion and contacing the forrestry department. I really hope they have a solution. The exterminator will be here this afternoon. Hopefully he'll have suggestions too. I have had my son sleeping on the couch all week. We killed the spiders that we could find in his room but I don't know if there are others that we didn't see.
I am over my initial shock of moving here. It is beautiful!
Once we find a solution to the spider problem, I'll be able to relax a bit!
Again, Thank you for your' prayers!
