Do you do something in your spare time that makes you feel good about yourself? Are you accomplished at a certain hobby that is a source of pride for you? Tell me about it. Do you make things and sell them? Do you give the things you make away as gifts? Do you collect something?

Absolutely! A few actually. Computers, photography, and lacrosse. For lack of a better term, I sucked with using computers. Hated that I couldn't do much, so was inspired to teach myself all I could learn. Since that inspiration hit, I've become a proficient typist, can build a desktop from scratch, and am close to graduating from college with a degree in computer engineering. Photography was always a fun escape from the daily grind. Never really did it for any reason aside from the fact that I enjoyed it. Recently found ways to make money with it, and it's just exploded as my favorite hobby, in part because it's now funding itself =) Lacrosse is my other favorite. I got involved with a few lacrosse camps before entering high school. I loved it. Tried out, and made the freshman team as a goalie. Moved up to middie in the end of the season. Tried out again, made the cut for JV. Moved up to third line, scored the game winner in the final game of the season. Then came injuries, and the "you'll never be able to play again" notice from doctors. Tried anyways, but was cut my junior and senior year. Gave it another go, and was a walk-on for my college club team. Scored two goals my first game back, moved up to attack. Somewhere along the line, moved to defense. Hold the record for most goals as a defenseman at my college. Not too shabby for someone who wasn't ever supposed to play again. So absolutely, I'm definitely proud of all three of the above. Turned one into a bit of a career, one into a source of income, and the other I'm just plain proud of.

I like to create things with paint shop pro. I create wallpapers, websets, graphics of all sorts. I don't make any money off them, at least not yet, but I do enjoy making them. I've received some compliments on them so I guess I'm doing something right. It's something I enjoy doing and I like to share with others.

I think that when a hobby becomes a source of pride, you've found the right hobby! I would love to see some of your' work! Wouldn't it be nice if we could all make a living doing what we love?

I like crosstitching. Recently, I started hand sewing. I made a pj for my baby. It's not perfect but I'm very very proud of it. I'm thinking of making something and then sell them later but I can't make up my mind on what "something" is going to be. I make stuff and give them away if I have enough time to prepare for it. I used to collect stationeries and cute watches. I've given them to my kids already.

Do people come to you and say "Hey, will you make that for me?" If they do, it could turn into some extra money for you! I have an imperfect outfit that I made for my youngest daughter. It looked so cute on her. She's 8 now, but I still have the outfit!:)
