Do number puzzles increase brain power?

I love number puzzles like sudoku and kakuro. I like them better than crosswords because you usually have to know a lot about popular culture to be good at crosswords. Numbers always stay the same so all you need is good logic skills. I think these puzzles help keep my mind sharp. What do you think? Can these sorts of number puzzles help make you smarter?

I read that doing puzzles of any kind is good. They sharpen your brain by excersing it. This helps with keeping your memory. I like doing crossword puzzles. I have not yet tried sudoku and I assume that kakuro is similar. I will get around to trying it sometime.

Kakuro is like combination of sudoku and a crossword. These puzzles are often called cross sums. I should probably do these puzzles more, my memory is horrible. lol

I love Sudoku, at first it was a challenge to solve the puzzles, but now it has become an addiction. I have to solve at least two to three puzzles a day. I havent heard of Kakuro, Probably its called by a different name in my country. Is there an internet site where I could download and try this puzzle.

Try this site. http://www.kakuro.com/ It's got programs you can download, or you can just play it online.
