I throw a party for my children every year and will do this until they leave home for sure .
The older children invite whoever they want and as many as they wish to be there . For the older children we do not play games but I always do this for the younger children .
I made the mistake with one of my daughters when she was younger and wanted to have a birthday sleepover . It became the sleepover of the century when she invited over thirty children to come sleepover and they ALL showed up . We had children everywhere , on floors , couches , chairs , you name it lol . We had hauled mattress from upstairs down to the living room and had even borrowed the blow up mattresses from friends . It is definitly a birthday she will never forget or her friend lol . So for this reason even though they are allowed to have as many as they wish over , we request they let us know how many will be spending the night lol .

We always have a party for our kids! This year my daughter turned 6 and we invited most of the girls from her class to our house (we ended up with 13 girls) and we made body glitter, lip gloss, I painted the girls nails, he had a pinata, cake and then the girls just played in my daughters room. We sometimes have them at McDonald's or MrGatti's (like Chuch E. Cheese but cheaper)that way the kids get to run around and play. My son turned two this year and we don't know any other kids his age so we just went as a family to MrGatti's and he got toys from everyone's tickets =) I love birthday parties even though they are expensive and stressful!

No we do not. We have always had birthday parties in the family. We still do now that they are older. Birthday person gets to pick the restaurant to go to. Thankfully they like healthy food. We do cake and ice cream and if no presents before the day we go shopping and let the birthday person pick out presents within the budget. We do holiday with family, birthdays and most vacations also. Just the family.
