Doesn't it aggrivate you when you see you have a private message and

Keep mylot spam free - There are some little pointers about advertising..

Don't presume everyone wants to read your spam..your ads..ask first

Don't advertise something that many know is a fraud or scam

Don't keep sending the same links all the time or bunch 100 together and then place them in every response you make..

No spam for me please

And there is spam all over .. I don't think people should become your friends just to spam you.. I think it's alright to post it publicly under the proper title but to send you offers through your pm and email just seems so rude. I think of private message system here on mylot ..a way we can chat with our friends..not sell to them.. I think if you want to offer an opportunity privately first ask if you may send an opportunity..not simply send the link with your id and say "try this" Most of times spam I am getting are programs I am in or have tried..Please, no more dormcheck invites!! The only kind of spam I like is the Spam in the can..and even that is pretty bad for your arteries;)

Heck, I don't even like the spam in the can! lol. Seriously though, I agree with you. Luckily, I haven't yet received any spam here on mylot. *knock on wood* But, if I did, I would be quite upset with that. They do have an interest set aside here for online money making opportunities. By placing the link there it would be seen by more people anyway, and most of those people might actually be interested in it. As a side note, I sent you a PM a few days ago. If you didn't want to reply to it, that's okay. But, I wanted you to know that it wasn't spam and it doesn't contain a link of any kind. It was just something that I had been interested in discussing with you, based on the discussions I had participated in that you had started. I just wanted you to know that, in case you were worried that it might be spam, since it seems that you've received a few of those in your PM box. :)

Hi..I didnt have you in mind when I was speaking of spam..so please don't take this thread personally..I havent answered all my good messages because I am still weeding through the bad ones that have taken over my inbox..As I delete the unwanted messages .I am sure I will find your good one:)+

Oh, don't worry. I didn't take it personally, and you are more than welcome to take all the time you would like on my message. I was just concerned, after reading this, that you might mistake my message as spam, since it was sent shortly after you accepted me as a friend. I didn't think you had me specifically in mind. No worries. :)

It definitely does aggravate me to see spam in my private messages box. I do not like spamming at all and will delete the messages and in some cases I will delete the person that sent it. If they want me to check out their website or blog that is okay but if they are trying to sell me something than I have a problem with that. I am not joining anymore sites either.

yeah I have recieved something like that and what really annoys me is they will send it three times! They even put it in your comment area that sometimes can ruin your whole profile. Good thing I new how to delete those casue someties the delete button is not there.

I agree, again (^^,LOL^^,) very bad for arteries. So far, it happens to me only "twice" but I must admit I was stuned by the "business" agresivity. Because as soon as I approved the invite, I had a pm at once. Wow! so fast! Well I chatted with the person, it had really clear intentions. But unfortunately I haven't joined any. I don't know may be the way it was served to me, didn't match my palate's taste. Too agressive and straight forward, I don't blame them if they want to have referrals but they should be more "finesse" with the way they prepared the "spam" in the can. (^^,LOL^^,) Hope it won't happen again! Hope you'll have a spam free day my friend! (^^,)

I like to delete these as it gives me a certain pleasure of getting rid of them, as I never asked for them and plus the thought of someone sending me a link to an earning program that I've already joined is the worst prospect. If people want to earn they should base their decisions on a good recommendation instead of a person who just wants you to sign up under them who you've never even heard of!

Usually if I share an opp..I try to do it in an unselfish way;) But you know how human nature is; Someone comes in and sees mylot has over 80,000 members and then starts emailing each one a private message and after emailing them deletes them as a friend..Isnt that awful..scoundrels I say, scoundrels!!+

I really don't appreciate this, although it doesn't bother me that much -- not as much as when telemarketers call my cell phone during the day, using up my minutes.

I agree. I am willing to be anyones friend but I am seriously thinking of not accepting their freind invitation until they have accumulated at least a 100 by their name. I have been getting a lot of spam from people who just joined and asked to be my friend. I think that it is a lot of bull crap and they should stop. I get a lot of spam from newbies and I think that it is rude and I don't waste my time to even look at the sights that they are claiming to be good and worth my while. I wish that we had a spam blocker her on mylot.lol.

If someone send directly a referral link after I accept them as a friend, that annoys me more. Looks like they want friends only to send offers. To people like this I tell first time not to send more messages like that, if they don't listen I don't hesitate to delete them. But sometime if some friend send in between thats ok.

I've had this happen a couple of times. If it's someone I know, then I'm fine with that. But I had a couple of people send me a friend invite and I accepted, only to receive a private message literally in the following few minutes full of affiliate links. I deleted both members right away, and yet one of them still had the cheek to send me another friends request the following day. Needless to say, it wasn't accepted. I think the best thing you can do is delete these people if they keep sending you spam links. You don't have to just put up and shut up. Delete them and silence them. It's the best way.

I agree with you. I don't enjoy opening a PM and seeing it full of links and suggestions on how to earn more money. If you want to post that on your profile page, go for it, if I'm intersted, I'll check it out; please don't try shoving it down my throat.

I am annoied by hundreds of spams. Because I did foreign trade, I registered in some B to B websites in order to promote my business. But since then, I received many useless spams everyday. I am afraid that these spams may infect the virus for my computer system. Sometimes, it is very hard to clarify the different between the real business letter and spam. So I hope to stop the Spam and hope these websites I registered would respect my privacy.

I just spam them right back with the other programs I am in, letting them know that I refuse to join in any of theirs unless they join in mine. Then, if I don't see any new active referrals in any of my other programs, well - I can be a real menace. If they do join one of mine, I might just join one of theirs. That has not happened yet though. In this case, they would be dropped from my friends list, & then I start going through their discussions & report their discussions that violate the MyLot guidelines, as well as their responses. So - it would not be worth it for them to spam me via private message, & not check out my other programs when I spam back. It would hurt their MyLot earnings.

Thanks. Anyway, on a serious note, keep in mind that when you go on a hunt-and-report-violations rampage, it does hurt your own mylot earnings too, because you're not typing out a discussion or typing out a response while hunting. However, at times, the lost earnings is worth the fun & natural high from that adrenaline rush.

Luckily I only have a couple of friends here which suits me but I have been told to watch out because some will spam. I was also told that if the person does send a pm about a site, and if we are not interested to send them back a message saying that. If they keep repeatedly sending pm's about other sites, the only answer is to report them to myLot and then delete that person from the friend list. We reckon if we want to join a site, then okay but not to be continually spammed by people who also include their referral details ..... they are not trying to help me but themselves that way. Some sites or forums ban members from spamming other members. If someone has a great site then okay send me a pm saying they have found this site and invite me to contact them if I am interested .... that is not spamming but lets me know I have a choice in the matter. If we choose to respond okay but if not that should be the end of it.

But what about people who ask to be your friend and the only time you see them is pming you about some opportunity..I wouldn't call them true friends..I know I have a tight schedule this past week..but I try to get to friends at least once a week..what about you?

Easy on that one. Anyone who asks to be a friend, doesn't respond to any discussion I have started at all but instead spams me gets a pm saying "thanks I am not interested". If a second one comes, then they are an ex-friend, that is they are deleted. I am not interested in having friends who are not friends at all, but instead are after making a quick buck out of me. I am sure that there are a lot of people who join mylot only to promote their own referrals. They are not interested in me, or anyone else for that matter, let alone the discussions that are started. Check out some of the blogs sometime, where people have huge blogs with all sorts of things but only a small rating here on mylot. Yes, I do get to my friends discussions whenever I can. When I come here to mylot, I will generally concentrate on responding to at least 2 of my friends discussions, and sometimes get to more than that. It all depends on the time limit I have.

Yes, it has been a little aggravating. For awhile I couldn't even figure out how to delete my messages once I'd read them. Silly me! I like the spam in the can better too! I guess, when people first come to mylots, they are in the "I'm going to make money" mindset, and eagerly send their links to everyone before they really get into how much fun it can be here and how much you can collect a group of people who will support your discussions and you will get to know pretty well. It has been a great experience.

spam - spam board
My blood boils when I see spam in mails. And the sender always has hoax mail, and wherever he does not have a hoax mail, I just spam him. I just save a mail on the disk and keep on sending multiple copies to these spammers. Like this I stopped a few commercial mails that I used to receive. for those selling viagaras and other pharmas, I try to jam their websites (it may not be possible to jam) by sending mails to postmaster@sitename.
