I have wavy/curly/frizzy hair and I find that Bumble and Bumble surf spray, can really help it stay under control...especially in the humid months. It's a sea salt based spray that give your hair that "just at the beach" look.
However this stuff is really pricy and not really in my budget. I was wondering if anyone here on mylot has either heard of a good alternative to this product, or has (and this is even better) figured out a way to make their own.
Thanks!

If I remember correctly, this stuff costs about $20 and I've only ever seen it in salons. I know what you mean about it being a great product though. My stylist used some on me and I was hooked. I must admit that I do like to splurge once a summer and buy a bottle.
Have you read the ingredients label? Other than the fragrances, I think it is mostly sea salt and water. Perhaps you should try mixing that in a spray bottle and see what it does.
Oh, and I found this on about.com:
Secret #3: Want Sexy, Messy, 'Just Off the Beach' Waves? The secret is in sea salt spray. We once dropped by one of Manhattan's hottest salons to check in on the new perming trend. We wanted sexy, loose waves & we were wondering if they did them there via the perming process.
No can do, said the girl at the front desk, who just happened to have the hair we wanted. "Do you happen to perm your hair?" We asked, oh-so-delicately. She blushed ever so slightly, then leaned to tell us a little secret. "Nope, I use sea salt. And I make it myself." You too can make a spray using a bottle, sea salt & water. But if you want to buy it yourself, we recommend our favorite sea salt spray, Bumble & Bumble's Surf Spray.

There are a few different kinds of dandruff. Depending on what kind you have you should use a different kind of shampoo. I use salon but it depends on the person. You could also talk to a doctor about it next time you get a checkup.
