How many friends do you have in your list? I have 87 of them now. Do you think that it is good to have lots of friends here? To me, I find it beneficial as I do not have to look for discussions to respond to since I will get the alerts from myLot whenever any of my friend started a discussion. At the same time, it is interesting to see how people from different parts of the world started their discussions. Some of the discussions are similar no matter where you are and some are very unique to the geographic location of that person. Let me know what you think about this so that we can share the information and learn together.

I totally agree on most of the points you have raised. I have fewer than 20 friends now, yet I am getting inundated with alerts about the discussions they have initiated. Initially, I thought it was disturbing but later realised that I don't have to respond to all of them, but to only those ones of interest to me or the ones for which I have facts to contribute. My fear is that when friends get so large in number, and they actively post new threads, one may not have the privilege of attending to non-member posts again. A balancing act will have to be designed here so as not to miss out. As to the similarity of themes and thoughts, you are correct. We are all human beings, with identical structures, including the brain. We have similar natural experiences, modified only slightly by our peculiar environments.

You are right that we should not entirely ignore those discussions started by those who are not in our friends list. I am sure we can figure out how to have the best of both worlds ya...

I'm not sure how many friends i have on my list now, i know that is over 100. I always go to the "discussions my friends started" section of mylot because i find that if you stay loyal to the people on your friends list then they will stay loyal to you, and i have things in common with the people in my friends list because we have either answered many of eachothers topics or at least one, so that's one thing in common. I delete friends if they are rude, or they never make any sense.

At the moment I have 93 friends. When someone invites me as a friend, I always look at their profile to see what sort of discussions they start and what kind of responses they make. If I do not feel that we are likely to be interested in the same things or if I see that they are not observing the guidelines, I wonder why they added me and I sometimes Deny. The Friends list is a useful way of connecting to people with similar interests and can often lead to useful contacts, especially if you want to pass on information about other online sites and recommend people as referrals. Build your list intelligently and you will make many real friends! I do find that I need to prune my list occasionally and if I find that somebody hasn't posted anything in more than a month (I make a list approximately monthly of their names and number of posts), then I will sometimes delete them. People come and go here and I would like my list to consist of people who are active.

I only have a few mylot friends. It really is an advantage if you have lots of mylot friends. Because you do not have to go look for a discussion. On your home page in mylot, there is a section where all your friends discussions are posted. You can just browse to their discussions and choose whatever discussions you like.

Like you I find it to be beneficial as well. It does make it easier to be able to go through your friends discussions then having to go through your interests instead. I don't respond to all of my friends discussions because I don't always have something new to add but I do try to give a response to as many as I can.

You are correct I don't have to search for discussions as I get my friends discussions as soon as they are posted. Much easier to deal with.

I have never counted how many friends I had and thanks to your discussion I checked and found that I have 24 friends. I agree with you it's good to have friends. When I log on mylot I check the list of discussions that my friends started and if the discussion is of interest to me or is easy to answer I post a response. I agree with you that it is interesting to see what people talk about according to what part of the world they are from.

Yup dear friend i think it is good if you have 87 friends. bcoz here we are going to share our thoughts and ideas with each other. and it is much better if you already know someone who gave you answer. so i think friendship is also a part of life. everyone need a friends in his/her life. but here on mylot if we make too many friends so we get benefit from mylot. mean if we read and response each other's discussion and posts. then everyone can share his knowledge and also earn more with team work.
