How do you get more traffic to your blog?

I've started working on a blog. Its not quite ready yet, and its not searchable on the search engines yet. I was wondering what the best way was to achieve that ,and how to increase traffic.

There are lots of ways to get traffic to your blog. One is telling everyone you know that you have one so they can visit it. Next, you can join some blog surf sites to help increase traffic. Also, search the most popular key or tag words that get searched the most and try to add them to your posts. A blog is a work in progress so don't despair. You can visit mine by going to my profile.
