I went to a gathering over the weekend and they served a fruit salad that was made with fresh fruit, cool whip (about twice the amount I would usually haved used), and shredded coconut. It was creamy and sweet and quite good. I've had fruit salad with marshmellows, and even walnuts. But the coconut was a first.... What do you add to your fruit salad?

That's a real good idea, Your salad sound delicious (except for the pineapple, I like pineapple but I'm allergic to it), great tip on the 7-up too.

what country are you from my friend? In the Philippines, fresh fruit salad is always combined with coconut and the usual fruits like pineapple, apple, cherries, berries and the like.I haven't tried that fruit salad with marshmallow though.I think to make it more creamy and delicious, i usually add cubed cheese in it.try it. Goodluck!

we love this kind of salad that we do fondly call it BUKO salad . . . mix fresh fruits or a can of fruit cocktail added with shredded young meat of coconut with little of it's water , condensed milk , cream then chill for about 3 hrs. or serve with ice crushed makes it so enjoyable too with a vanilla ice cream topping !

I use exactly what they put on the fruit salad at that gathering you went to. The coconut is always a must at my house. I love marshmellows too and a lot of cool whip.

yes, we usually use young coconut in our fruit salad. we mix it whip cream and condensed milk and put corn tidbits, sweet sugar palm, nata de coco and shredded cheddar cheese. Nata de coco is chewy jelly like product made from bacterial fermentation of coconut water.

I love adding Coconut to my fruit salad. I usually do all the different fruits ( as many as are in season) along with walnuts , raisins and cashews. It's so yummy!!!! Cool whip always makes it so much better!
