Where would you say is the most romantic city and why?Looking to take my partner somewhere really romantic for our "honeymoon" after our civil ceremony later in the year and I'd like a recommendation for somewhere really romantic. Please try and explain why you think the city you name is romantic

Most people living in Europe think Paris is a very romantic place and they are right. That is because of the stunning Eiffel Tower. But I think Bruges is even more romantic. It has canals, a beautiful square with old buildings, bikes everywhere and friendly people. Some people adore eating Belguim chocolates. You could reach it by taking Eurostar from London Waterloo to Brussels, then get a local train tom Bruges. Venice would be another option. The canals there and old buildings have great charm. Dubrovnik would be a wonderful choice . It has a beautiful setting overlooking a green wooded island. Salzburg would be an amazing palce to go. It is surrounded by beautiful mountians. If you want to go further afield the pyramids of Egypt would be a very romantic place to go. You could see camels there. You would be to fly Cairo for that.

I have been lucky in that I have been to Bruges, Salzburg and Cairo ( I love to travel). I went on a cruise down the Nile 16 years ago and loved it, maybe it would have been even more romantic with someone

Oh, I totally agree. Venice it is. Not so into Paris. I think it's overrated. :) I too haven't been to Venice but I REALLY liked it in movies and pictures. You could have a nice romantic dinner in a quaint restaurant (choose a table outside) and then after you could take a ride on a gondola and cuddle underneath the stars (*SIGHS) I WISH I could go there.

The most romantic city is the city where you and your partner are together, happy and in love
