What's your definition of love?

Is love the way you treat someone or the words that come from between your lips. I think this is a reason people stay in abusive relationships. People say I love you. These are words we want to hear. In my opinion I believe love is how you treat them. You know when someone loves you by their actions, they will treat you good. Many people use those deadly three words "I love you" to use and manipulate people and situations. I guess my point is . If someone is not treating you well "they don't love you" They can learn to love you but they need to know just because they are saying I love you to keep you around is not sufficient. What do you think?

Love has a lot of definitions i may say. But for me, when we love a person, we accept him/her for he/she is including the postive and negative. We accept his/her weaknesses and motivate the person to be the best person he/she can be. When we love a person, we do everything not to hurt her but instead become an inspiration to him/her. If we love a person, we learn to compromise things. I agree with you that a lot of people do become abusive in a relationship and i dont call it love. it actually contradicts to what it really means. I have been to an abusive relationship before and it actually affects the other aspects of my life. we do have our opinions about love but if you are in an abusive relationship, i think you need to think again and ask yourself, is he/she really love you or you are becoming stupid to believe in the words he/she is saying?

i think i love you means, i want the best for you rather we are together or not. i think love is a totally package. of honest words and being treated with trust, honesty, and respect. people confuss love with hate and fear all the time. which is sad, because real love is wonderful. what is most important is you have to teach people how to love you by loving yourself.

To understand that which is called "love", you have to understand that all human beings are born whit basice needs such as love, power, fan, freedom and survival. whatever we do all our lives, we are always attempting to live in a way that will best satisfy one or more of these needs.
