Do you remember the 80's movie Can't Buy Me Love?

It was one of my favorite movies in the 80s. My brothers and I watched it at least once a week. I bought it on DVD recently and watched it again. I love Chuckie the younger brother. They recently remade it... I think "My Love DOn't Cost a Thing" starring Nick Cannon... but it's not as good in my opinion. Have you seen the movie? What do you think about it? What are your favorite parts and characters?

yes I like a lot this movie, the girl was beautiful and she was in this time my platonic love. I didn´t see the new version, but i think that always the original is better

I looked it up on Internet Movie Database www.imdb.com and her name is Amanda Peterson. Did you know the nerd - Ronnie Miller - is Patrick Dempsey and he is now the Dr. on Grey's Anatomy?

Oh my gosh. This movie was soooo great!!! I thought Chuckie was good as well. I saw My Love Don't Cost A Thing before vewing this movie and I think both of them were really good. Of couse I loved that the nerd gets the girl after spending time with him. I loved the way these movies make you look past your shallow views and open up to people who you may not otherwise give a chance or second look.

The first time I saw it was when we had satellite tv at my old house. I was 15. We had sooo many channels but sometimes as a teenager I was so picky as to what I wanted to watch so it seemed like there was almost NEVER anything good to watch on tv. So I was scrolling through the movie channels and ended up on Can't Buy Me Love. It might have been because something caught my eye or because I left the channel on when I went out to get a drink or something but I ended up watching it over 5 times that week! (It was a movie marathon) I was totally hooked and absolutely loved it! Every so often (about once a month or so) I will think that I would like to see it again because I cannot remember a whole lot about it. But for anyone who likes cute romantic movies this is one you cannot miss! I hate when they remake movies and they try to make it hip and cool but only succeed in looking bad.

I never saw the remake but I love Can't Buy Me Love! It showed that Patrick Dempsey is "Dreamy" long before Gray's Anatomy!! It's just wonderful. I love the movie even when it's stupid and cliched etc, it's one of those movies that really touched me as a teenager and beyond. I have never bought it on video or DVD but I never miss it when I catch it on TV, and when a local dollar movie put it on in the late 80s-early 90s, I can't even remember how many times I went to see it. I love it!!!!

ONE of my favorite parts, The African Ant Eater Ritual... or whatever that stupid dance was called. I love when his brother realizes that this is the "hot" dance they're doing!

Oh yes I really remember that movie - especially the cards with the tards part - now that was hilarious!!! And of course having Dr. McDreamy in the movie helped a lot!!! I often wonder though whatever happened to Amanda Peterson - the pretty blonde girl from the movie!!!

I watched the original at least 25 times over the years. Dempsey was such a cutie in the movie. Now I can't hink of the movie he was in where he was a pizza delivery guy with a little something-something going on the side. Never heard that there was a remake ... somehow I don't think it would as good as the original.

You can see every movie he has been in here: http://imdb.com/name/nm0001131/ But it sounds like you are talking about Loverboy.

Yeah the Nick Cannon one was nowhere near as good. I love the style in that movie, it's hilarious :) I like the movie in general, can't think of any one scene that stands out.
