I had hit a plateau a little while ago with my workout and weight loss plan. My instructor told me i had to change up and take my workout up a notch. Well i understood taking it up a notch that just means to work a little hard in your current workout classes by holding abs tigher and use your arms more and so on right. What i didnt get was what she meant by change up. I didnt what to sound like a total dummy by asking her cause everyone else there seem to know what she was saying so i guess i am asking if someone here can give me some insight on it.

well i think what she said maybe is to change your attitude towards your workout ,which means you need to work hard in attaining the goal fo being fit..

The bad thing about plateaus is that they are discouraging. The good thing about plateaus is that they don't last forever and when you get through it you will probably drop several pounds. You are probably replacing fat with muscle and muscle does weigh something. One way to encourage yourself would be to measure the inches you are losing because that will continue even if the scale isn't moving. Measure your arms, thighs, waist, bustline, hips regularly and you will notice they are getting smaller. I don't know what the instructor meant by changing up unless they were referring to changing the type of exercises you are doing.
