They're both okay. The problem with Norton is that it has over half the market (53%, last time I checked). This being so, new viruses are routinely tested against it prior to their release into the wild, to make sure they'll get past it. Kaspersky is one of the fastest to release updates, and has a much lighter footprint. And yet, the last heuristics test at AV-Comparatives showed Norton as doing twice as well as Kaspersky in detecting new samples with three-month-old signatures! Personally, I can't stand the thought of missing a renewal date and having my updates cut off, so I only use freebies. One of the best at proactive protection is PC Tools. Even if it doesn't have a matching signature, it can still protect you from zero-day threats by guarding the registry and system directories. Can't ask for much more than that!

Kaspersky Internet Security Suite is the best complete web/computer security package till date. The antivirus engine is the best, and the Firewall also is over Zone Alarm in technical reviews, and also doesnt cause problems in file sharing over LAN. [:)] Symantec/Norton is the most heavy RAM consuming startup slowing software ever devised, and it cannot repair any major virus threats. [:(]

Norton still the best Anti Virus, the only disadvantage from Norton is that this Anti virus taking too much source and space from our computer so sometimes makes the PC became very slow
