Are we being cheated in the last 24 years in cricket?

Hi, looking back, we have not internationally done anything worthwhile in cricket after that 1983 triumph. Even that win was made possible by the cockiness of WI batsmen rather than our own merit. It was evident by the fact that the same indian team was pummeled into submission by WI in the tour following the 1983 WC. Since that time, cricketing public were subjected to witness various dramas ranging from match fixing, captaincy issues, player selection issues, partiality in fixing venues for matches, improving overseas record, improving fielding, improving cricketing infrastructure, finding pace bowlers and what not. But so far, even with below par performance on most of the occassions, we have made BCCI and players richer by a few crores while watching the culminating episode of that 24 year ole drama coming to a grand climax with our team getting beaten by even minnows at the cricket's most premier tournament. What do you think? Isn't it time that BCCI set up an independent accountability committee comprising of former players and true lovers of the game from all parts of india, and whose recommendations should be given due consideration and implementation? Share your views. Thanks.

We need to understand that BCCI is not Indian Cricket, because the way it has assumed the status of rich association, it really has distanced itself from the cricket in the form as we Indians see it. But we still should not lose faith. Cricket has been a great uniting factor for all of us. I think whatever has happened, has happened for good and it has made us think about cricket in real terms. And new initiatives like the one from Subhash Chandra from Zee should be supported. It is a remarkable feat. Let us see it bear some fruits!!
