YOu are about to pay the item you picked with a price tag on it. Then you were asked to pay a higher amount, telling you that the price tag is wrong. This is a common experience to me. It's either the price tag was not changed or it's bad intention. I never argue though, I just walk away and leave the item at the counter.

Well at least where I live the store has to sell the item for the price that is on the tag. If they are not willing to do so and tell me the tag is a mistake, I do the same as you. I say thank you, leave the item on the counter and leave.
