My friend was working in an office for the past 2 years and last month he quit his job as he got a good offer from another company. But he very often goes to his old office to meet his friends over there.. What will you do in such situations? Will you go to your old office or just meet your friends somewhere outside?

Absolutely! I do it all the time! I have always made lots of friends no matter where I've worked. I've even worked temp jobs for just a couple months and made such good friends I go back to see them or go to lunch. I think it's awesome.

I've never quit a job. I have been laid off four different times. I didn't go back to the first job I was laid off from because the whole company closed down. The second time, I did go back once, but that was it since they cut back to only two of my ex-co-workers. After that they closed it down completely. I do still stay in touch by email with one of my ex-co-workers from that job. The third job, they laid all of us off, except for two people and me and a couple of others went to visit for my friends birthday at her new location. That place closed down completely as well and for quite awhile we got together on our own and I keep in touch with one of them via email. The fourth job, I was actually leaving to go on permanent disability and I had to take the doctors note in to my boss, so I went and said good-bye to all my friends. I still keep in touch with two of them. One of them moved to Oregon and we still send letters and gifts. I hope to visit her one of these days. If I had quit a job on good terms, I would probably go back and see my ex-coworkers once in awhile or go out somewhere else to get together, depending on everyone's work schedules.

I've never left a job where I've "burned my bridges" behind me. I always think that maybe, someday, I might need a reference or I might even run into some of those same people in another workplace. At one of my jobs, I ended up in the workspace next to a girl that I had known since high school! I didn't even know she worked there. So, yes, if I had friends in a workplace that I left, I would have no problem going back to visit them, if I had that opportunity. I wouldn't do it on a regular basis - but I think it's nice to be sociable. I also have lunches or dinners, now and again, with former co-workers... but those always take place at an outside venue.

I have worked from a company for almost twelve years. Almost all of the people there in the company are my friends. I didn't leave a bad impression when I left my former job, it's just that I want to try out on my own. So I often visited my friends whenever I get the chance. I would bring them snacks or treat them at the company's local cafeteria.
