street dog's funny attitude!!!

My fathers observation daily during his morning walk is that dogs live in one street are friendly.They play with one another.being stray dogs even they live in one place without any fight. But at the sametime, if a dog from another street comes to his street, almost all the dogs chase that particular new dog away.At times he is seriously attacked. Have you seen this type of dogs strange behaviour in your locality?
