Brambles

Just been very brave and spent an hour in the garden hacking back the brambles that are neck deep in places. Much as I love blackberries, I could do without the way the brambles get everywhere making it very hard to get on and develop the garden properly. I'm going to have alovely bonfire later this evening and burn what I've cut back, and hopefully that will make it easier to see what I need to do next. I'll dig out the roots in due course when I've dealt with the main thicket of briars. Anyone got any top bramble bashing tips?

There are only a few ways to get rid of brambles they are very invasive plants and the roots run a long way. so you have to dig a lot to dig them out and you have to get them all or the come back. You can get weed killers you paint onto the leaves with a brush that are supposed to work.

I'm really not keen on weedkiller except as a last resort, so I can see I'll be doing a lot of digging over the next few weeks
