Once i read this article about an event some forty years ago, when dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stirred the passion and imagination of americans with his dream of equality for all people. Reflecting on that and as well as Dr. King's life, i was also reminded that history has demonstrated that leaders often emerge during periods of great change. For every Major turning point in history, great leaders assumed the mantle of leadership for example: Abraham Lincoln, Harry Truman, Franklin Roosevelt they will all come to mind. What is interesting is that usually great men and women dont go looking for leadership, instead, leadership finds them. when Dr. King received the 1964 Nobel Price, He said, "History has thrust me in this position. I neither started the protest, nor suggest it. i simplt responded to the call of the people." King's words reminds me of plato's "only those who do not seek power are qualified to do it" as for you..what will you do if leadership finds you? Will you take the lead?
