NO! I was at that match and i can say, because i have seen with my eyes that police did that only to protect themselves, they did only 2 short charges (15 seconds each) because they were surrounded by english supporters, and they were pressing them by one side,so police had to do that. In addition lots of english supporters were drunk and a couple of them istigated the others to attack the police, but before they were attacking the stewards placed on their side. So,italian police did only the one thing that had to do. I don't know the others, but i'm not fool enough to run towards a police agent shouting or menacing or wielding a seat as a weapon and hoping that he will make only a smile. I hate violence but this is only a sad consequence.

I agree, i wouldn't run towards the police either so they must have been drunk, but on the other hand, if I'm getting beaten by a club, I would have to try to defend myself. Soccer does need to go back to being about the sport and not being about violence!

I'm very sad for what is happen, but the italian police has do his work, the hoolingans of the Manchester started the provocation like the supperters of Totenham in spain against the Siviglia... Some people need education to follow a match at the stadium.

It's not good to hear that, violence like these is bad. Fans should know how to deal with other teams... The police was only doing their job.
