I took my kiddos to the zoo last week as a part of our Spring break activities. It has been a few years since we have gone. I have 4 little ones and I have been hesitant to take all four kids, but since my husband was able to take the day off we all went together. Once there, I really had a good time watching my kids look at all of the different animals. Their reactions to everything from the sleeping brown bear, the adorable monkeys, enormous hippos and the gorgeous tigers was something you cannot put into words. Even the giant pythons and the large bat exhibit(ick!!) was a wonder to my kids. My middle daughter was fascinated with everything and was trying to find a way to climb in to pet every animal. The 2 year-old twins wanted to know if the animal was a mommy or a baby and my son absolutely had to see the tigers!!If you asked them afterward, which exhibit was their favorite, it was hard for them to pick just one animal. Although, a full day at the zoo with four little ones was exhausting the excitement and enthusiasm they had for the animals was time and money well spent. I have always loved the zoo (personally I think the San Diego zoo is the best) but watching the kids have so much fun (and have so many questions still) about the animals makes the experience even better!! We are definitely going back!! Do you have any funny stories about the zoo? Did your kids react in a certain way to any animals?

I'm glad your kids enjoyed the zoo because not only is it fun to see different animals, but it's also very informative. I was always fascinated with the zoo. My sisters and I really loved animals so much. I have one unforgettable funny experience when I was little. My mom brought us all, including my aunts and cousins to the biggest zoo in my home country, the Philippines. When we got to the big monkey cage, my aunt attempted to give a banana, but all of a sudden the monkey grabbed her purse. We were all surprised, and my aunt couldn't believe it. She wanted to get in the cage herself in order to get her purse. The monkey didn't show any sign of returning the purse, but instead emptied it by spilling out all her cash. After that, he threw the purse right out the cage toward my aunt. The animal guard came and helped my aunt recover the contents of her purse. We couldn't stop laughing. It was then that I realized that monkeys are actually very similar to human beings. Happy myLotting!

The zoo is a favorite place of mine too. I have memories of going as a young girl with my Mother and throwing marshmallows to the polar bears and monkeys. The Pittsburgh Zoo had this really old orangatang Jinx's that loved to perform. We watched him grow older each year. The last time we went to the zoo was 2 years ago. I had 3 pre-teen girls with me. It ended up being a biology lesson. The monkey exhibit had one monkey showing us his manly pride & joy. Wow, more than I bargained for. My favorite is usually the Tiger exhibit. I think they are a graceful animal.
