Every year, I plant seeds with my 2 children. We all love doing this! This year, so far we've planted:
chamomile, peppermint, cockscomb, watermelon, butterfly weed, lavender, columbine, oriental poppy mix and strawberries.
I'm now on a mission to get a shelf put up underneath my dining room window, which is quite large and faces West. Yes, I would prefer the plants go in the East window, but that's not possible. It's ok, the West facing window gets ALL of the late morning/afternoon sunlight - lots and lots.
We get a big enough shelf today or tomorrow, I will definitely be adding some more greenhouses. I'm very excited about the shelf, because once the seeds take off and need to be moved to pots, I won't have to worry about where I'm going to put them all. I could even start an indoor herb garden for year round! Hmmm...
Oh - and does anyone know, is wormwood a perennial? Last year I found the most gorgeous wormwood plant. It thrived very well but I'm worried it won't come back. If it doesn't, I'm going to be pretty upset & my next mission will be searching for another one!
Have you planted any seeds yet? Are you planning to? What are you going to plant? Do you usually plant seeds or do you visit a nursery to get plants? What plants are you thinking of trying this year that you didn't have last year?
Grow, grow, grow! :D

Oh my you have done alot!! We just planted some flowers that we bought at the store and we bought tomato plants to plant also, we haven;t done it yet though. We also have some carrot seeds to plant, that is about it for us. We might be moving so we don't want to do too much.

I forgot about tomato plants! I'll have to get some when the weather here gets warmer. I also forgot about carrots, that sounds like a good idea too!

This is the first year I am trying a garden in many years. My best friend and I are doing it together, it is so much fun. We planted the herb garden already...Lavender, mint, thyme, sage, basil, and rosemary. In the vegetable garden we just planted corn, peppers, peas, green beans, yellow squash, zuchinni, and gourds. We still have the lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, spinach, and cabbage to go. I also want to plant some garlic. As for flowers, I have a lot of rose plants and bulbs already. I am getting ready to pot some pansies, petunias, columbine, nastursums, and a few other varieties. I can't wait till they all grow and bloom. I am just praying for no more frost or wintery weather.

Wow...you have really planted a lot! It's going to be really beautiful!
The poor hyacinths and daffodils in my yard are all wilted, due to the weather. This morning, there was a little snow on the ground!
Hopefully everything else that was starting to grow doesn't get affected by this cold weather.
