Easter and all those carrot eatin' bunnies

My husband and I went to the store yesterday and we ventured down the "easter aisle". What in the world is going on? I don't think that we saw ONE thing that signifies what Easter is really all about. It was sad. Does anyone celebrate Easter? I mean the real Easter? I'm not against the egg hunts and all that jazz, but what about Jesus? Is He not marketable?

You will find easter items about Jesus in religious book stores, not in grocery stores. With society as it is today the stores don't dare dispaly Jesus items much as nonchristians may sue the store. It is really sad. Make your own Easter hodiay Traditions and make a special cake for Jesus and all that. I'd stay out of the Easter aisles.

Every holiday has become commercialized. Companies don't make money off of Jesus, they make money off of things that appeal to kids.

Many non-Christian people still celebrate Easter with baskets of candy and egg hunts for the sake of children. Most people tell their children the reason of how Easter evolved, much like Christmas. But most of these people already have Bibles and religious statues at home. The stores have to promote what will sell. That is their business and HOW they stay in business. It's not their job to make people away of how the holiday evolved. That needs to be done at home. Do you really want a Savior who is 'marketable'; I don't think that it's necessary and perhaps may even loss more meaning....
