Can caffeine help you lose weight?

There are a lot of beverages out there which consist of caffeine. For example, soft drinks, energy drinks, tea & of course coffee. Does caffeine help to lose weight? There are few studies indicate that it does help in weight loss. So, what do you think?

Caffeine is a dieuritic it helps drain excess water but it is an appetite stimulate. You should watch your caffeine intake when you are trying to lose weight.

caffeine blocks up the kidneys,thus less impurities gets out, so i dont think it will do any good at weight loss. i found that i myself cant lose one pound when i keep on taking coffee in a diet. but i lost weight steadily by drinking rooibostea and caffeine free coffee. the rooibostea also has anti oxidants so that might have had an effect too.
