Home Alone......

Do you ever get nervous or scared being home alone? What about at night time? I don't mind being home alone during the daylight. But at night I get a little creeped out sometimes. We have a big house and even though we have a security system, it's still a little weird sometimes. I feel much better if my son or husband are at home.

I get nervous every time during the night. During the day I am fine but at night I get creeped out by every little noise =) My husband is in the military so when he is gone I have to sleep in the living room with the TV on all night =) That way I won't hear every little noise!

i use to enjoy being home alone Until my hubby got deployed overseas for 16 months and I was home alone that whole time! It got really boring here. But I don't mind being alone I realize all the noises are just the house

Not usually. but one night I heard someone walking around out side and it sounded like they stopped in front of my bedroom window, then went on. They came back then left. I was so scared I could not move. I was already in bed and I am one of those that fall out in minutes. It took me 5 or more minutes to go to sleep but not to long. the next morning I got up and found that my dog got out and was running loose. It was only him!!

I hate being home alone at night. My husband used to work delivering papers and left the house at 2am. If I was up or woke up, it would take forever to go back to sleep. I don't like now, I sleep alone in the day, and I also hear every little noise. Not so much scared, I think once you start to relax, you start to pick up every little thing. I know everyone says that night is the same as day, but dark. I work for a Police dept in a small town with a low crime rate, and I can tell you, all the freaky stuff, it goes on at night. We don't have rape or murder here so far, but all the fights, burglaries, domestic batteries, etc, guess what time ? My shift midnight to 8am. So I know for a fact that the freaks come out at night !!

It's okay in the daytime but my imagination tends to get carried away in the evening. LOL.

Hiya Daycarepal, No I am not usually afraid at home alone. Although that rarely occurs, I enjoy the peace and quiet. I live in a small rural community with very low crime statistics; but also know how to defend myself if the need were to arrive. Many people are more fearful "after dark". I truly believe that even though we know that things are not different just because it is dark...our mind imagines that there might be something that we can not see and out ears seem to pick up sunds that we do not notice when it is busy and others are around. I would say that it is probably a "built-in" survival instinct that all humans have to some extent. I think that this is probably a common occurrance among people who are rarely alone or who live in large cities with high crime levels. Best of luck to you.

I dont have any reason to be nervous when alone at home during the day but spending all night alone wont be that easy especially if i end up watching some horror movie. The darkness does has its effect and being alone would be scary. Sometimes after watching horror movies i wont move out of my room unless my husband is along.

I feel much more safe and secure if my husband is home with me or my daughter is home with me. I am used to being alone now because my husband goes on deployments frequently but I don't like it at all. Especially when we move to a new base and we are unfamiliar with the surroundings or the neighborhood in which we live. But such is life. At night I just make sure all the doors are locked and windows locked and ensure our safety before we go to bed at night.

Well when im homealone sometimes I will get scared but it only happens at night time im sure thats when most people get scared I usually leave on all the lights and put on the tvs if I hear tvs in other rooms makes me still think my parents or sister is here so I dont get as scared but I know my parent dont like it because it will waste a lot of electricity so they have to pay more lol.

Depends. Somedays I love being home alone and other days I get scared. It depends. I hate going upstairs alone when im home alone cuase its really dark and just creepy, and the basement is too. Also depends what I watched, If a scary tv show comes on t.v and Im home alone, I do get scared for sure. I dont know why though, Im 17 but when im home alone I feel like a 6 year old. Im deffinatley still afraid of the dark.

I feel the same way too. I am not just comfortable with the idea of being alone during night time even though our house is not that big you know I still feel scared to be alone. What i do is i keep the lights on! LOL! Funny but true. ;)

Me too. I'd be scared... I'ts spooky at night. At times like that, a lot of thoughts will be coming in my mind that would agrevate the creepy situation and wishing for the time to revolve fast for a daylight.lol
