Do any of you suffer with the problems of Restless Leg Syndrome or Lymphedema?

These are both conditions that I have problems with and I'm just wondering if there is anyone else out there who has these same problems. If you do I would really like to hear from you and hear how you deal with them, medically, physically and any other information that you may have for the problems. I take medication for my restless leg syndrome but it doesn't always help me. Sometimes I have to double up on my medication. But one non medicine thing that I do that works some is drinking what is called "Sleepytime Tea". I get it at Wal-Mart. It is a mixture of chamomille tea and peppermint. Once I drink it and it kicks in I really relax and my legs feel a lot better so I can sleep.

I will certainly try the ice packs and heat packs when I have another bad episode. I have never thought of those remedies. The worst episode I ever had was about a year ago, shortly after being diagnosed. I ran out of my Mirapex and of all times it was on the weekend when I couldn't contact my doctor. I went through two nights of hardly any sleep at all. I tried exercising my legs while laying in bed. I tried getting up and walking the floor. I tried sitting in a chair. All of these things would work until I got into a position to try to go back to sleep and then the "creepy crawlies" would kick back in. That first night I lost so much sleep I was sitting in church the next morning trying not to go to sleep, it was awful.

I have never heard of Lymphedema. I'll have to look it up. I DO suffer from RLS. I take Mirapex for it, but am phasing it out because I don't want to be on a lot of medications, even though I am sick. Doctors don't take me seriously once they see I have more than two prescriptions. I know that Neurontin can also help, and that and Mirapex are virtually without side effects. I'll have to try that tea you mentioned. ANYthing would help. : )
