My mum had the same problem with my hair. She used to put gel in my hair that way it would stay put in any style she put it into. Nowdays there is also mousse just put a bit of that in her hair it will help keep the clips and things in also as it adds volume to hair. An advantage to this is also it keeps the nits out of hair also if there is a nit problem at school.

but won't the gel or the mousse do some damage to your hair from prolonged use? and how is your hair now? as it thickened thru the years?

Mousse conditions the hair and most are water based. My hair is still extremely fine.

My hair was fine as a child and slides et cused to slip out. My mum used to have it trimmed regularly as appparently this helps it thicken up but I still had it past my shoulders. Some bobbles are better than others - the elastic ones will pull hair out with them so avoid if possible, I used those like tiny sweatbands with the elastic inside- far softer. I often used to have me hair plaited so that the bobble was only at the bottom, avoiding damage along the hair. As I got older it thickened up more and now since I had my boys it it a lot thicker. I wouldn't shave her hair away, just find ways to keep it out of her eyes.

If you are really concerned your Dr may be able to refer you to someone but I have no idea who that may be, a good hairdresser will probably have some good ideas too. Thank-you so much for giving me your best response!

Well, I dont think you can do much about that. Like the other person who suggested to get your baby's hair shaved, I would also recommend the same remedy. It really works. You can do it when the baby is young, once it grows up, you won't be able to do much about it. So, if you are convinced, get it done at the earliest. And yes, get it shaved at least thrice. More you shave, more thicker the hair become.

ohhh... i'm afraid i can not do that to her. she's 5 already and doesn't even allow anyone to cut it, how much more shave off everything? guess, i just have to look for alternatives. tnx though for the suggestion.

I had that case when i was younger. I used to hate it. But as i got older my hair has also grown smoother and finer than ever and people would give me compliments about my hair coz they're so smooth and shiny. Aren't you glad about that? I suggest you keep her hair the way it is, or put on a hairband if you'd like some styling.

I have naturally dry hair and find that my hair actually sits better after 2 days of not being washed and find I have to wash it first through use of product than build up of grease. I have to wash my hair every day. I I don't it gets so greasy it is disgusting. he only time I will not wash my hair is on the weekends when I am not going anywhere to let the natural oils work through my hair to keep the shine and luster. During the week I have to shower every day. If you wash your hair everyday or too often then you actually over stimulate the oils in your hair and that is why people who wash their hair everyday end up with it so greasy.
