Is Bill to blame?

Could Bill Gates save the world by using his fortune? I think many people think that people like Bill Gates could save the world with their fortune and power. I think it is not fair, nor rational to depend on the enlightenment of some powerfull individuals to change the world. If all rich people were to give up their wealth, there would come others (not that enlightened) to sweep up what they left behind before it reaches its goal. I think most people are already aware that they are being deceived big time by the system of an economic power hierarchy, but when they have the chance to become a millionaire, or billionaire, hardly anyone would refuse out of solidarity, justice, or possible harm to the environment. The main problem is: 'Even if still more people fall to the loosing end of the system, the system itself of winners and loosers is still embraced and defended, and when you get the chance to be on the winning side hardly anyone would refuse.' The people have the power, but the majority still agrees to this system by giving it their lives energy and Earth resources to support it. The fear of loosing is going to be a self-fullfilling prophesy, until we realise on a collective scale that we are in this together and that everyone has his own individual power to use that contributes to good, or bad. I'm not saying that the powerful don't have a role in this, but the power is given (often through deception, but also out of fear to take responsibility yourself). It's overcomming this fear and see through the deception, that makes us take responsibility over our own power. It needs a collective effort to cut of the parasites, but too many people are still seduced by the ease of a life as a parasite. You don't have to work and can feast on the lives energy of another without him knowing about it. All you need to do is leave him enough energy to stay alive as your host.
