I always find it funny that you could buy a child the most expensive toy ever, and it gets rejected for something that cost nowhere near as much. My daughters favourite toy is this brightly coloured spider that is on a spring. We have hung it above her change table, and so when we're changing her nappy we make 'Buggy' bounce on the spring, and she just loves it! She always tries to catch him. No matter how sad or upset she is, Buggy always makes things better!! Last Christmas and recently she has ended up with heaps of new toys, but none even compare to Buggy in her eyes! He is a handmade toy that we got at the markets, I think we only paid about $10?? What is your childs favourite toy?

Don't you just love that?? LOL When my children where younger it never failed that at Christmas, or birthdays everyone would get a laugh because of them. They would sit there and open their gifts.. then quickly toss the toy aside and start playing with the wrapping paper. It was quite funny how they were more interested in the paper then the toys. Now that they are older that dosen't happen lol but my son is happy as long as what he gets is car related. For his birthday last year that is all that he asked for. He wanted ALLLLL cars!

and to add to that comment... We will take the kids to get a toy every once in awhile if they have been well behaved... and we will tell them they have this certain amount they can use. My youngest is happy with any kid of babydoll and she hardly ever looks at the more expensive ones.. she always goes for the 5 dollar ones lol and my son like I said before loves cars and he will go for those ones they sale for like a buck each.

Well I have 4 kids, so I'll start with the oldest!! My 7 year old son, his favorite toy is his lego's. He wanted a roboreptile and a tekno dog (about $100 for the reptile and $60 for tekno) and he never touches them! My 5 year old like's his Kinex, which are also pretty cheap, about $9 for a small container. My 2 year old is the hardest to buy for! His favorite right now is a $2 stuffed bunny he saw at walmart and couldn't live without! My infant saw a little teeny frisbee that belongs to my 2 year old and he has been obsessed with it ever since! Probably a $1 or less toy! He loves to hold it! It really is funny what they pine for and then they would rather just have something inexpensive!

Hehe - its funny the things they pick to be the best toy!! My first Christmas I was with my hubby, I bought our neice a toy dog (it was her first Christmas). She is now 7, and that dog is still her favourite toy, and I think it cost me maybe $5?? I'm sure we were all the same as kids. :) Wanted the big expensive toys and then played with the box instead!! LOL

That is so true. I went all out for Christmas and got all the top toys for both my kids and then their grandparents get them stuff from the dollar store and they seem more happy with the dollar store toys. My daughter has about 20 new barbies and her favorite one of them all is a barbie with no legs that he grandma was going to throw out and then my daughter wanted it, so they gave it to my daughter (I have tried to toss it out so many times, but my daughter wont let me) and she loves it. She plys with this doll more then the others. It's a doll with no legs! And my son has a drum set and he just likes the drum sticks. LOL! Kids.

Well my son is three now and so has moved into hot wheel cars. And I have to tell you for costing a dollar those things can take a beating. And the wheels don't fall off. And he is very selective when we go to buy a new one. I will pull at least 10 of those off rack asking do you want this one and he replies No until I find the one that seems to tickle his fancy that day. Now all of that said the best toy in world to him even above the cars in an empty box. Of all the toys he has more times than not he will dump is toy-box and just play with the box.
