Of course not! Strangers are strangers. Even "friends" can be dangerous so how can you trust strangers on the same car as you?

I didn't use to give lifts to strangers but one incident changed my life and now I stop for people who look like deserve a lift. I was coming from bhopal ( city from central india ) and leading to bombay ( city situted southern central india ). I saw a person asking for life at 12 in night . God knows why I stopped my car for him and let him in. We drove for some 80 miles and then he suddenly shouted "Stop ,brakes." I don't know why I pushed brakes and stared at him. Then he asked me to get down from car and see what is ahead , to my surprise it was a broken bridge and it wasn't visible from car lights. He told he knew that there was broken bridge on khan river and that's why he stopped me. I was so glad if I would have been alone , then definately I would have fallen from bridge into river.

In all honesty I would not stop and give a lift to a stranger. As a woman on her own, I wouldn't take the risk of letting anyone else into the car with me. If someone was in genuine need then I am quite happy to use my mobile phone and call the emergency services to inform them that there is someone on the side of the road needing help but I wouldnot put myself at risk by stopping. It is a sad fact of life that it is no longer a safe world

Well no I don't think I have ever given a ride to a stranger! I just worry because of all you hear about the dangers of doing it and lots of people that rob, steal your car, or whatever. And for me I have my kids with me so no way would I risk it. Sometimes I see people and elederly especially and it makes me sad that I cant help but I have to think of my kids first.
